During the months of April and May this year Mircea Vinatoru will be at Kansai University in Japan as a Visiting Scholar. While there his research will involve an investigation of the mechanism of ultrasonic degradation of polymers and also the ultrasonic deactivation of microorganism. He will work with Ken Yamamoto who has previously worked in the Sonochemistry Group at Coventry University and has published papers with Tim Mason.

In June Tim will be delivering a plenary lecture in Caparica Portugal during the 2nd International Conference on Ultrasonic-Based Applications. His subject will be “Sonochemistry – from the beginning”
